The park features redwood tan oak madrone chaparral and an 80 foot waterfall that drops from granite cliffs into the ocean from the overlook trail. There is a dump station in the park. No trailers or motorhomes can be used at this site.
We camped at pfeiffer big sur state park in a motorhome. The hiking trails through the trees and along the river are nice. There are no dogs allowed at the campsite. Campers park on the west side of highway 1 and walk in to the campground approximately 14 mile across the big sur river on a seasonal wooden footbridge.
